First $1 Million Prize In Keno Lottery Game History Claimed By Western Mass Group

The Keno Lottery has been around for 30 years and just made history by doling out its first $1 million prize.

The prize was won on Wednesday, March 22 and the Penny Lane Nominee Trust of Lenox claimed its cash on Friday, April 14, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery. The trust was represented by trustee William Martin, who picked up the check at lottery headquarters in Dorchester.

The trust's ticket won on a night in which the 20 winning numbers included every number from 1 to 13. The $1 million prize was won by matching the numbers 1 through 12. 

The winning ticket was purchased at Zenner's Pub & Deli in Pittsfield. The restaurant will receive a $10,000 bonus for its part in the pig win. 

One $500,000 prize and four $100,000 prizes were won the same night as the $1 million win.
